Taxila: Federal Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan
said Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Peregrine Aviation Charlie
Limited had agreed to pay for an out-of-court payment for a PIA flight taken at
Kuala Lumpur airport on a Malaysian court order. .
Malaysian authorities seized the PIA Boeing-777 at Kuala
Lumper airport on a Malaysian court order after the PIA failed to pay a $ 14
million leasing fee. The minister revealed that after paying the unpaid amount,
it was expected that the Boeing-777 would be returned to Pakistan. He said a
Malaysian court had issued an order without hearing the PIA arguments. Speaking
to reporters in Wah on Sunday, the Minister said the next hearing would be held
in a London court and hoped the matter would be resolved. He blamed the PML-N
government for securing two aircraft in 2015 over an expensive deal that the
country's governor failed to pay on time due to the Covid-19 epidemic. He said
the PTI government would take action against those responsible for illegal
employment in the PIA. The minister said unscrupulous employees and those with
fake degrees had been fired.
